HIE PERSPECTIVESThis is a project we filmed for the State of Tennessee on the topic of Health Information Exchange. It focuses on the difficulty patients face keeping track of all the records different doctors, pharmacists, and specialists keep on them. It's up to the patient to tell one doctor what the other one did -- and thousands of times a year, a misunderstanding turns out to be fatal. This project details a pilot program in Memphis that seeks to change all that.

"WHERE DISCOVERY BRINGS HOPE"The Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt asked us to produce a 30-minute TV special, allowing us to peek into hidden labs where incredible and world-changing research is taking place. The hard part was disciplining ourselves to fit so many amazing stories and ideas into a single program.

"ONLY THE EDUCATED ARE FREE"
This is the story of East Academy, a struggling private school in East Nashville that subsidizes the tuition of most of its children. When the school asked us to produce a fundraising video in 2008, they urged us to hurry because they weren't sure how much longer they'd be around! So we cranked out this piece in a couple weeks, which helped raise the $100,000 that followed.
"A PLACE FOR YOU"The Office of Diversity at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine commissioned us to produce this recruitment video to attract minorities to its program. The key was to balance the message along with a compelling visual experience for viewers. We decided to end the piece with footage shot during the school's Match Day ceremony, which, at Vanderbilt, is an intensely participatory and dramatic event.

"HELP PORTRAIT"
This is a video we did for our friend Jeremy Cowart, who convinced a small group of photographers to spend one day giving away free portraits to those who can't afford it. The idea apparently caught on. Thousands signed up in cities around the world to participate on Dec. 12, 2009.
"ACCESS TO JUSTICE"
This is a PSA we produced for the Tennessee Supreme Court to launch a state-wide initiative called "Access to Justice." It's an effort to encourage attorneys to provide pro bono help to people facing civil lawsuits who can't afford to hire an attorney. Our aim was to show the impact just a few minutes with a trained lawyer can have or someone who would otherwise be going it alone in front of a judge.
"YOUR GENOME AND THE FUTURE OF MEDICINE"This is a 30-minute documentary sponsored by the Vanderbilt University Medical Center on the topic of personalized medicine. We pulled together the entire project -- from initial meeting to first broadcast -- in five weeks. All video, animations, and music were commissioned for this project.

OPPORTUNITY VANDERBILTVanderbilt's Office of Alumni Relations wanted a video to promote its scholarship fund. Most important to the client was that its intended audience - mostly Vanderbilt alumni - would be struck with a sense of nostalgia for their alma mater, so we shot in a number of settings that would be familiar to anyone who attended there.
